Weds started in 1965 as Nippo Co., Ltd. in Osaka, originally supplying parts to Nissan. In 1973, the company became Weds, and in 1977 it launched the Racing Forge, described in Weds’ history as Japan’s first forged aluminium 3-piece wheel. Weds entered motorsport seriously in 1984 under the WedsSport name.
